What’s the meaning behind Cor Christian Counselling?
Cor comes from the Latin word ‘heart’. And that’s what we’re all about. Simply put, we help people from all types of circumstances resolve issues of the mind and heart — so each one can move forward to healthier tomorrows.
Cor Counselling is here to offer a safe haven to people of all ages, a professional place of care and non-judgment to restore relationships and find hope for better futures.
Together let’s move from confusion to understanding and conflict to resolution.
Principal / Owner
Jackie Wiedemer MA is owner of Cor Christian Counselling and holds a Masters in Counselling.
From a young age, Jackie has been actively involved in various church ministries and activities. Leading vacation bible school (s), organizing youth retreats and young adult groups and family events have given Jackie keen insight into working with people from different Christian faith backgrounds.
After graduating from UPEI with a bachelor’s degree with Honors, Jackie went on to earn a Master of Arts degree in Counselling (MA) from Providence Theological Seminary in Manitoba, Canada. She has also received training in emotionally focused couples therapy from the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy. (ICEEFT).

Our passion lies in the integration of psychology and Christianity and the many ways we can combine the best of both worlds to become the person we are meant to be.
Goals
When chaos runs the day, it is often difficult for us to see where we are versus where we would like to be. Our goal is to partner with you to create a strong alliance that helps you make sense of your situation and explore practical paths forward to resolution.

Using evidence based therapeutic practices, we encourage you to move forward in your mental health and faith journey. Our work with couples is informed by the understanding that we are made for love by love. With deep sensitivity and attunement to each partner, my goal is to help your relationship heal and grow. And we work at a pace that is right for you and your goals.
